Setting up a new nursery in Dubai is one of the most stressful yet rewarding challenges in education. The amount of planning and thought which goes into the finer detail of setting up a nursery is incredible and the satisfaction gained from designing a new building, a curriculum, a staffing structure and a set of values and principles are priceless.
Setting up a new nursery here in Dubai has all of the associated challenges with setting up a nursery anywhere but, working and trying to get to grasps with the local context, can bring so many new challenges to making a dream a reality. Dubai Municipality regulations, the Civil Defence, local contractors, and everyone else in-between, adds another layer of complexity to the daily challenges.
All of these challenges require people with a ‘can do’ mindset that see cultural difference as an opportunity to learn, that see networking and entertaining as an integral part of the job and, most of all, they require people who are resilient, who approach each and every day with the attitude that the project has to be delivered.
We are eight weeks away from welcoming our new staff to "White Dove Nursery", but there are still so many things that need to be put in place.
So many parents are calling each day, and I'm so excited to welcome them through the doors at White Dove, except the anxiety that is held on wanting the building project to be completed and then preparing the nursery for 'open day' can really be quite overwhelming.
